The Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition

works to change laws improving the

 environment and society at large.

The world is facing huge environmental and social challenges, from protecting human rights to minimising the harmful effects of climate change.   The Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition works to make changes in UK company law to minimise companies negative impacts on people and the environment and to maximise companies contribution to sustainable societies.

Members of the Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition, including WWF (UK), Amnesty International, Action Aid and Friends of the Earth have been tracking environmental and social problems and finding their solutions for many years.  These groups and others formed The Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition in 2000 which has already made some progress in successfully reforming UK Company Law through the Companies Act which came into force in October 2007.

The main themes of the Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition's work include: the need for greater corporate accountability of key decision makers in companies, the importance of openness and transparency
